Meet Author Carlos Berreda



Carlos Berreda is the author of Awki , an emotional and moving tale about a torn family and young boy's journey through life. In the story, John Crester is the eleven year old son of divorced parents. His mother has moved away and his multi-millionaire dad will buy him anything he wants. However, what John wants most -can’t be bought.

How long have you been writing?

Off and on for 50 years.

What is your most recent literary/artistic project?

Latest completed Work is Awki

I Am working on: The Greatest Soccer Player that ever was: A fictional story about about a boy from the Midwest that becomes The Greatest Soccer Player that ever was. He is born lower middle class in Nebraska, his family grows to wealth in real estate and is bankrupted in the great depression of 2008. While wealthy he trains with soccer academies but in poverty he plays pick up with migrants which greatly improve his soccer skills. It is a story about soccer, racism, the depression of 2008 and triumph over adversity.

Am also working on: Supay. Supay is a rogue computer program that has taken over all intelligent devices and with the INTERNET of things is everywhere.

What inspires you to write?

The stories in me.

Who’s your favorite author and why?

James Clavell. I love shogun and the theory of power behind it.

What advice can you give to other authors or writers?

Don't do it for the money.
